Automobili-Lamborghini SpA, commonly called the Lamborghini is a car maker in Italy. The company was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963, with the aim to produce a grand tour car that can compete with established offerings from Marques such as Ferrari. Lamborghini's lack of success continued through the 1990's, until the company was sold in 1998 to the Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, a German automotive company.
